Young Coders Unite: Kwara State Launches Tech Skills Holiday Edition
The Kwara State Government is advancing its commitment to digital education by extending its School Coding and Digital Literacy Programme into the second-term holiday period. The Holiday Edition, now active in selected secondary schools statewide, builds on the transformative initiative first launched in February 2024.
Originally rolled out across 50 public schools, the programme aims to equip students with critical digital skills, preparing them for a technology-driven future. Focused on innovation and empowerment, the Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme – Holiday Edition is nurturing the next generation of tech leaders, problem-solvers, and creators.
Tailored for youths aged 12–15, the initiative offers hands-on learning in coding, digital literacy, innovative thinking, and problem-solving within an engaging environment. It expands on successes from the 2024/2025 academic term, blending education with creativity.
The future is digital—and it begins now.
Tailored for students and teenagers aged 12 to 15, the Holiday Edition builds on the successes of the 2024/2025 second academic term rollout. It offers a dynamic, hands-on learning experience that sparks curiosity and fosters creativity through coding, digital literacy, innovation thinking, and problem-solving—all in a fun and engaging environment.
This impactful initiative is proudly championed by the Kwara State Government under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. The program reflects the Governor's unwavering commitment to investing in technology and innovation as tools for youth empowerment and socio-economic development.
Targeting 7,500 students across all 16 Local Government Areas of the state, the Holiday Edition introduces young learners to the exciting world of tech. Participants will explore how technology shapes their daily lives, gain practical experience with digital tools, and develop basic projects from scratch—ranging from websites and simple programs to digital art and storytelling.
Led by experienced instructors and mentors, the program ensures that every student—regardless of background or prior experience—feels welcome, empowered, and inspired to explore the possibilities of the digital age.
Through initiatives like this, Kwara State is positioning itself as a forward-thinking hub of innovation, where young minds are nurtured to become active contributors to the digital economy of tomorrow.
