Kwara United End Shooting Stars' Nine-Match Unbeaten Run in NPFL
Shooting Stars suffered their first defeat in nine league matches after being beaten 2-0 by Kwara United in Ilorin on Wednesday. Goals from Kabiru Muhammed and Ojifinni Abdullahi secured the victory for Kwara United.
Despite the loss, Shooting Stars remain in second place but are now eight points behind leaders Remo Stars. Kwara United climbed to eighth position with 32 points from 23 games.
In another match at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Bendel Insurance edged out Enyimba with a 1-0 win.
Enyimba were left with 10 men early in the game when Innocent Gabriel was shown a red card for a reckless challenge on Kayode Oke in the 22nd minute.
Oke later capitalised on their numerical advantage, scoring the decisive goal in the 55th minute.
