Saraki Greets Gambari

Date: 2013-01-31

A former Governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki, Wednesday congratulated Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari who, a few days ago, retired as a United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary General after 12 years of service.

Saraki, in a letter distributed to reporters in the state capital, described Gambari as a great son of Ilorin who had contributed to world peace.

The senator added: "Let me, on behalf of the good people of Ilorin Emirate/Kwara Central Senatorial District, say that you've done us proud and we wish you all the best for your well-deserved retirement.

"Looking back over your remarkable career, you have much to be proud of, but knowing you, you will not rest on your laurels.  I am sure you have already set your sights on another noble target and we wish you all the best for the new challenges you will be taking on."
