Court Dismisses Crystal Group's Case Against Kwara State Government Over Kwara Hotel Remodelling

Date: 2024-10-18

According to Blueprint, an Ilorin High Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Crystal Group of Companies Limited, owned by Hon. Moshood Mustapha, against the Kwara State Government concerning the remodelling of Kwara Hotel. Justice E. B. Mohammed struck out the case after the state government's preliminary objections were upheld.

The court ruled that there was no valid contract between Crystal Group and the state government for the hotel's remodelling, deeming a draft or unsigned agreement legally insufficient to pursue any claims.

“The claimant's suit against Kwara state government on Kwara Hotels is hereby struck out,” the court held.

The government had repeatedly explained that it signed no agreement with the crystal group and that whatever talks between them had not reached the level of a legal agreement that is binding on either party.
