Governor AbdulRazaq Approves Recruitment of Doctors and Nurses for Kwara's Basic Healthcare Sector
As reported by Punch, the Kwara State Local Government Service Commission has announced that it has secured approval from Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq for the recruitment of healthcare personnel into the state's basic healthcare sector.
The recruitment will include doctors, nurses, midwives, and other categories of health workers to address vacancies in areas where there is a noticeable shortage of medical staff. The positions will also cover community health officers (CHO), community health extension workers (CHEW/JCHEW), pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, laboratory technicians, and health attendants.
In a statement released on Sunday, the commission's Press Secretary, Lubaba Haliru, quoted the Chairman, Umar Shero, explaining that the recruitment is essential for parts of the state lacking sufficient medical personnel.
“The recruitment exercise will prioritise the ad-hoc staff who are currently in the system. They will get the right of first refusal as compensation for their work.
“Interested applicants should fill and submit the attached google form (https://forms.gle/jYBgxsjgXnq67cjZ8) between Monday, September 15 and Friday September 20, 2024, and only successful applicants will be contacted for the next phase of the exercise.”
The statement also added that “priorities will also be given to qualified persons living near the facilities where new hands are needed.”
