State Government Administers Competency Test for Senior Civil Servants
According to a news report from Leadership, the Kwara State government has conducted a comprehensive competency and leadership assessment for 196 senior civil servants in the state.
The written examination, organised by the Office of the state's Head of Service, took place at Peace Hotel in Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State.
Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim, the Permanent Secretary (Establishment), clarified that the test was conducted as a preliminary step towards nominating potential permanent secretaries to fill vacant positions within the Service.
He revealed that successful candidates would proceed to the oral interview phase scheduled for Tuesday, leading to the final selection of new permanent secretaries.
Ibrahim commended the dedication of the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to the revitalisation of the state civil service, emphasising that the competency assessment aimed to ensure that only the most capable individuals were entrusted with significant responsibilities.
The Permanent Secretary added that the state government would not compromise efficiency in service delivery as only experienced and competent personalities will be appointed into government positions.
Ibrahim appealed to workers in the state to rededicate themselves to duties while assuring that the government would continue to recognise hardworking staff.
