ICPC to track N1.8bn projects in Kwara
The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has earmarked about N1.8 billion executive projects in Kwara state for tracking to ensure compliance to specifications.
Principal Superintendent of Investigation, ICPC Kogi Office, Mr Nathaniel Sikpi, told newsmen about the exercise in Ilorin, saying it is to ensure value for money.
Mr Sikpi said the tracking was to ensure that the projects were not executed only on paper, but physically on ground, emphasising that the exercise will cuts across executive and constituency projects.
On the tracking at the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC), the ICPC Officer said the vehicles procured were not the ones specified in the contract.
He said the contract indicated 2022 model 32-seater Toyota Coaster Bus, but Mikano Hilux was procured.
Reacting to the allegations, Kwara State Coordinator HYPPADEC, Hajiya Hajara Alhassan, explained that the procured vehicles were more suitable for the terrain of the communities due to bad roads.
At the National Health Insurance Agency, the team leader said nothing could be tracked on the building because the Bill of Quantity (BOQ) was not available.
The ICPC officer said the building would be subjected to further investigations and contractor would be invited to the ICPC office for questioning.
