Emir faults blocking roads for parties

Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has called on Kwara State Government  to stop roadside trading and blocking streets off for social activities in Ilorin metropolis.

He spoke  at the  47th annual conference of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union in Ilorin on Tuesday where he urged the government and the people to adopt dialogue in resolving governance issues.

President of IEDPU, Justice Saka Yusuf, also urged the state government to tackle urgently the resurgent cultism in higher institutions in the state.

He asked the government to check examination malpractice and other disciplinary problems among the workers and students in the state.

Yusuf, who said the union was  opposed to holding carnivals  in the metropolis, appealed to the state government to stop such indulgence.

Calling for the regulation of the operations of motorcycle riders and commercial taxi drivers in the state, he also canvassed the immediate rehabilitation of roads in Ilorin to ease traffic in the metropolis.
