Kwara Gov commiserates with Gobirs as fire razes family home
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commiserated with the Gobirs of Ilorin over a Friday night fire incident that razed their family house along Sobi Road in Ilorin.
In a statement on Saturday, the Governor called the development a regrettable erasure to a cherished relic of history valued by many generations of the Gobirs, and said more concerted efforts must be taken by everyone to prevent fire incidents and loss of lives or property.
“Our heartedly commiserations go to the Gobirs on this sad incident. Equally regrettable is the loss of properties worth millions of naira to the inferno. We find solace in our belief that God gives and takes, even as all stakeholders are required to play key roles to prevent fire incidents in the future. May Allah give comfort the family,” the statement said.
The statement also commended fire service operatives for their efforts which helped to curtail the inferno.
