The Kwara Police Command, on Tuesday, decorated 10 senior officers following approval by the Police Service Commission.

The Commissioner of Police in Kwara, CP Kayode Egbetokun, decorated the 10 officers in Ilorin.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Area Commander, Ilorin Metro, Iliyasu Kwarbi, was promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.

NAN also reports that Celestine Woru, Moses Femi, Fabode Sunday, Adedayo Oluwaseyi and five others were equally promoted to the ranks of Chief Superintendent of Police.

Addressing the newly promoted officers, Egbetokun said the promotion was in line with IGP's agenda of rewarding hard work and steadfastness of officers and men of the force for effective service delivery.

While congratulating the newly promoted officers, he said that the promotions were based on merit, seniority and dedication to duty.

Egbetokun also urged them to reciprocate the gesture done to them by the IGP by redoubling their efforts toward fighting crimes and criminality in the state and the nation at large.

Kwarbi, who responded on behalf of the newly promoted officers, thanked the IGP and the commission for finding them worthy of promotion.

He also promised that the promoted officers would be diligent in the discharge of their duties.
