N-Power Beneficiaries In Kwara Appeal For Soft Loans

Volunteers for the n-power scheme in Kwara state have urged the federal government to make the scheme permanent or provide soft loans for volunteers at the end of the twenty four months programme. N-power Beneficiaries In Kwara Appeal For Soft Loans Beneficiaries of the scheme who made the appeal at a seminar and outreach project in Ilorin, the state capital, expressed concern over what is next for them after the programme.

The end of the n-power scheme for the current beneficiaries is months away. Volunteers in Kwara state have however expressed uncertainty about their future after the programme. The state chairman of the scheme, Bello Salau who noted that volunteers are planning to embrace agriculture, advocated that some be absolved into the civil service.

While commending the federal government for the initiative, participants' wants the stipend increased and the slots given to politicians and other bigwigs in the society be allotted to volunteers who have shown themselves as deserving.

However, the state n-power focal person, Ayobola Samuel said the scheme is to enable volunteers save and it is not a permanent employment.

In the agro-business sector, the n-power chairman said the management of the University of Ilorin has promised to give the volunteers two acres of land for their farming initiative.
