Date: 2018-03-15

KWARA United on Wednesday unveiled Abubakar Bala as their new coach.

The post became vacant following the exit of John Obuh on Monday.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the unveiling ceremony was held at the Conference Room of the Kwara State Sports Council in Ilorin.

Bala expressed his delight at the opportunity to work at the team and sought the support of all stakeholders.

He appealed to fans of the team to be patient and prayerful as he rebuilds the club to return to winning ways.

"We will design a technical programme that will give the club a new playing direction with a view to ensuring the success of the club," Bala said.

Chairman of the Premier League club Oladimeji Thompson said, "We will redouble our commitment to put the club at a vantage position and sustain our hard-earned promotion to the NPFL."

Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Ayobola Samuel, said the state government is committed to the progress of the team.

He said, "You are brought in to effect positive change. No excuses will be entertained. We expect you to deliver results. We will support you."

The governor also announced a reversion of gate fees from N500 to N200 and N100.
