KWSG: No Perm Sec Received Multiple Payments

The Kwara State Government has dismissed a media report by a newspaper that a Permanent Secretary was receiving multiple salaries in the state.

The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold who dismissed the report today at a News Briefing in his office said there is no iota of truth in the said publication.

Alhaji Gold who is also the Alternate Chairman, State Personnel Database Committee said no segment of the report recently submitted to the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed indicted any serving or retired Permanent Secretary as drawing multiple salaries.

He appealed to Journalists to always cross check their facts before publication. Corroborating, the State Head of Service, Hajia Zarah Omar expressed displeasure over the publication, saying that no permanent secretary in the state civil service was withdrawing multiple salaries.

Hajia Omar who was visibly touched said she was embarrassed by the publication. In his remarks, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Dr Muideen Akorede explained that the government was transparent in all its dealings and urged Journalists to clarify their facts and balance their reports in line with the ethics of their profession.
