KWIRS meets Oke-Ero traditional rulers
The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) has taken its sensitization and awareness program to Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State to solicit for the support of all the traditional rulers at the palace of Alofa of Iloffa land, Oba (Engineer) Samuel Niyi Dada who is the Chairman of Oke-Ero traditional rulers.
The Executive Chairman of KWIRS, Dr. Muritala Awodun who led the KWIRS team said the visitation to the traditional rulers is inevitable considering the position hold by the traditional rulers as one of the major stakeholders in economy implementations.
Awodun who explained the formation and modules operandi of KWIRS to the traditional rulers as well as people of Oke-Ero community, sought for full support of the monarchs since they remain the viable link between the government and the people.
The Alofa of Hoffa who spoke on behalf of other rulers pledged the support of Oke-Ero community to the government and KWIRS but urged the government to reciprocate in provisions of infrastructural facilities, employment opportunities, construction of good roads, health facilities and many more, adding that Oke-Ero is the least local government in Kwara state that enjoys benefit from the Government.
The event which occurred yesterday, had 15 traditional rulers m attendance including Elekan of Ekan, Onidofin of Idofin Odo Ashe; Elegosi of Egosi Kingdom, Edemorin of Kajola; Osolo of Igbede, Obadofin of Ikotun; Odokogun of Ilade and others.
