Kidnapped Kwara APC Chairman, Secretary Released

The governor of Kwara state, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has confirmed the release of Hon. Ishola Balogun Fulani and Chief Bode Adekanye by their abductors.

Hon. Ishola Balogun, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state and Chief Bode Adekanye, the scribe of the party were kidnapped at gun point along Lokoja Okene road in Kogi state.

The governor announced their release via his twitter handle.

"I have just been informed that the Kwara APC Chairman and the scribe have been released unharmed by their captors. While I rejoice with their families, friends and party members, I hold that we must work harder to end the spate of kidnapping," he posted on the micro-blogging site.

The spokesman of the APC in Kwara State, Sulyman Buhari, said the collaborative efforts and synergy between the Nigerian Police and other security agencies in the country led to the release of the duo.

The party hailed security agencies for securing the unconditional release of its leaders as swift as possible.

The party also appreciated the support and prayers from members of the All Progressives Congress across the country.
