I'm not at loggershead with Saraki - Lafiagi

Date: 2016-04-05

CHAIRMAN, Senate Committee on Security and Intelligence, Senator Shaaba Lafiagi (APC, Kwara North), has denied reports that he was at loggerheads with Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, describing the report as a fabrication designed to overheat the polity.

Senator Lafiagi also described as untrue report that he was planning to circumvent the position of the Senate President as leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kwara State, adding that it was all part of the plot to create the impression that there was crisis in Kwara State, home state of the Senate President. In a statement yesterday, the former Kwara State governor described as untrue reports that he had fallen out with Senator Saraki over the 2019 governorship nomination in the state.

He said: "My attention has been drawn to a report over the perceived crisis in Kwara State because of my alleged governorship ambition and other falsehood contained in the said report. "I wish to state that the report is nothing but bunkum, absolute falsehood and full of fabrications."
