Basketball: Kwara Falcons charged to do state proud

Players and officials of Kwara Falcons Basketball Club have been charged to do the state proud in this year`s DSTV Basketball Premier League starting on Friday.

The State Director of Sports, Coach Tunde Kazeem gave the charge yesterday in Ilorin while addressing the players and officials ahead of their trip to Port Harcourt to confront Rivers Pioneers.

Coach Kazeem restated the commitment of the State government to the welfare and well being of the crew as the only Premier League side in the state. The Director noted that government would give their welfare priority for the team to excel in the League.

He wished them peaceful and successful outing in the League. Coach Kazeem appreciated Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for his love for basketball and Sports generally and the Chairman of the State Basketball Association, Doctor Joseph Adeyemo and his members for the support and commitment to the development of the team.

Responding, the Captain of the team, Tunde Lawal promised not to let the State down and called for the support and prayers of the people of the State.

The team will leave in Ilorin today to confront Rivers Pioneers in its first match billed for Port Harcourt on Friday and will leave the next day to Asaba to play Delta Force on Sunday.
