Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed left Ilorin on Monday to attend the 21st Nigerian Economic Summit (NES#21) organized by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group and the National Planning Commission.

The Nigerian Economic Summit, an annual parley on policy directions, is slated for 13-15 October, 2015 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

The governor will also attend the meeting of the Nigeria’s Governor Forum (NGF) holding on Tuesday in Abuja, where issues affecting the states of the federation shall be discussed.

On Wednesday, Governor Ahmed will participate in a discourse on “Sub-National Competitiveness: A Conversation with State Governors” at (NES#21).

According to the organizers of the summit, the discourse seeks to explore the competitive advantage of each region of the country’s six geo political zones, and determine actionable steps required to harness opportunities in the region to make it more competitive.

The discourse will also seek to identify practical measures to increase the contribution of each region to national output; set an economic agenda and leverage geo-political zone competence towards achieving inclusive economic growth and sustainability.

President Muhammadu Buhari is also expected to lead a Presidential Policy dialogue at the summit, which will focus on key strategic elements required to make Nigeria globally competitive.
