Sanni admits inferiority at Giwa
Kwara United head coach, Tunde Sanni has said his wards lost to better team in the league restart clash at Giwa FC.
The Harmony Boys were pipped 0-1 by hosts Giwa FC in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match day 20 clash on Sunday at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos.
The Jos outfit captain and central midfielder Charles Henlong secured the three points for the side with his sublime fourth-minute goal.
Sanni said he was not too disappointed with the outcome of the match, insisting that the Tin City side's cohesive play was the difference in the game.
"Giwa FC do not just release their players and as you can see they are more of a team than ours.
"We have been struggling to maintain consistency because we started the season very late with no time to convince players to come to our team.
"You can see their team play and understanding," said Sanni.
Sanni said sometimes when you lose a game you could go home a happy man because of the quality of the opposition and the positives from the game.
"Yes victory is victory but I'm happy the goal was just one.
"The quality of the goal was not too bad but we have to go back and address our mistakes," said the former Kwara United star.
Kwara United goalkeeper Kazeem Yekeen, who put up a man of the match performance, said the result was one of those results in football.
"We are done with this game and we must look forward to our game against Dolphins on Wednesday in Ilorin.
"We came here to win because we had lots of positives from our last game against Warri Wolves," said Yekeen.
The defeat leaves the llorin outfit's total earnings at 23 points from a possible 60 in the 20-week old top flight.
Kwara United will host the Garden City landlords Dolphins in Wednesday's NPFL match day 21 clash at the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin.
