Ilorin derby: Olawale throws weight behind Kwara Utd

Date: 2012-01-26

Former Kwara United captain, Isiaka Olawale has thrown his weight behind Kwara United in today's league derby against ABS FC.

Olawale, who did not play in the 3-0 bashing of the Afonja Warriors by ABS FC in Bauchi last season due to injury said, the quality of players in the Coach Sanni tutored warriors will outclassed ABS.

According to him, "It is a local derby which will definitely spring out surprises, but with the calibre of players in Kwara United's possession, I feel they will carry the day. Most of the players that were in the ABS team which defeated Kwara United last season, are no more there, this I believe will be their major undoing in this game," Olawale said.

He added that despite the inclusion of new players into both teams, Kwara United would have the edge technically on the pitch of play.

"Despite the changes in both teams, the team that is able to get its house in other on the pitch of play stand a good chance of picking the maximum points. Personally, I think Kwara United will win given the fact that they did not charge majority of their players, and besides, it's my former team, I wish them both best of luck," Olawale added.
