Gbemi wasn't a mole in PDP, says Bukola Saraki
Saraki, who was the former governor of Kwara State spoke in an interview with newsmen in Ilorin on the landslide victory recorded by his party in the state said that apart from Muhammed Dele Belgore in PDP other members of the party were from Saraki’s political family stressing that the only difference was just that Gbemi was his biological sister.
“It is just a cheap black mail. It means all of them in the PDP are moles. Apart from Dele Belgore, the rest are from Saraki’s political family. The only difference is just that Gbemi is my biological sister. Anybody can decamp to any other political party as long as it is not for personal and selfish reasonss,’’ he said.
Saraki also said that, the last general elections had put an end to the era of using power of incumbency to win elections in the country, as they had shown to various political office holders that power resides with the people.
Speaking on the electoral victory of APC in all elective positions in the state as well as the re-election of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Saraki said that, Nigerians should expect an improved performance from the latest elective office holders across the country because it is now clear that people can vote out any bad government after one term.
The former governor also noted that the elections had shown the kind of change that Nigerians have been expecting in view of the determination and commitment that the people of the country have showed in the polls.
“Let me tell you that Nigerians can now enjoy the kind of leadership they have been expecting,’’ he added.
Saraki also tasked the chairman of INEC Professor Attahiru Jega to sustain the present electoral system he has put in place and even improve on it by ensuring that someone of integrity, credibility and flawless character who could survive all manners of pressures like him is recommended whenever he is ready to leave the office.
