General Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate emerged winner of last Saturday's election defeating the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP.

Debunking the report in a statement in Ilorin, Hajia Shagaya said "There is no iota of truth in the report because I have never met the Buharis at any time. How then could I have organized a dinner in honour of somebody I never met?

"My friendship with the Jonathans is total and so shall it remain. The report was certainly dumped on unsuspecting online users by those out to destroy the relationship between me and our dear first lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan who consistently remains a strong supporter of her husband.

"It is on record that I was one of those patriotic Nigerians who visited to congratulate the first family immediately after President Jonathan congratulated his co-contestant on the outcome of the poll."

"Let me also add that I am very proud of the president whose place in the history of the country will be better appreciated after his exit.

"While wishing the president-elect a successful tenure, I want to note with all sense of responsibility that I remain a loyal and faithful friend of Mama Peace and no regret about that".
