Yekeen set for Kwara Utd return
Strong indications have emerged that Bayelsa United goalkeeper, Kazeem Yekeen would return to Kwara United for their campaign next term in the Glo Premier League.
The former youth international goalkeeper left Kwara United when the Afonja Warriors were relegated two seasons ago to the second tier of Nigerian football.
Serious screening are currently going on at Kwara United where some players have been dropped, while some are still being watched by the two gaffers, Tunde Sanni and Tunde Abdulrahman.
Erstwhile youth International and former Warri Wolves goalkeeper, Ambrose Vanzekin was also involved in the screening exercise which is being held at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin but he was dropped on Thursday evening.
The duo of first-choice, Suraju Aiyeleso and Shagari have been retained, and United are now looking for two more goalkeepers who would join the Warriors as they prepare for their campaign next season in the Glo Premier League.
Kwara United coach, Tunde Sanni revealed to supersport.com that Yekeen has been superb in training, stressing that he would soon be signed in a matter of days.
“We have retained Shagari and Suraju Aiyeleso, and we are at present considering the signing of Kazeem Yekeen and one other goalkeeper to complete our goalkeeping department.
“We would soon complete our screening exercise because we have a task ahead of us in the coming season, and we must deliver,” Sanni said to supersport.com.
Kwara United, who returned to the Glo Premier League from the National League, will begin their campaign next term at Dolphins.
