Kwara labour holds forum with Gov Ahmed Tuesday

Date: 2015-02-15

The second edition of the gubernatorial candidates interactive forum convened by Joint Kwara Labour Congress will hold Tuesday in Ilorin, the state capital with Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed interacting with workers of the state on welfare issues.

This was contained in a statement signed by the state Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and his counterpart in Trade Union Congress (TUC), Umar Farooq Akanbi and Kolawole Nasir Olumoh respectively and made available to The Herald On Sunday in Ilorin.

The forum, which will take place at Teachers’ House NUT Secretariat, Asa-Dam road, begins at 9am.

Governor Ahmed is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who is running for second term in office.

The statement said workers would have the opportunity to ask questions on issues related to their welfare as well as issues on terms of employment in the state.

It reads partly, “The forum will give the gubernatorial candidate of the APC, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, who was unavoidably absent at the first session due to urgent national assignment to attend the Council of State meeting in Abuja, the opportunity to interact with workers of Kwara State on issues that border on their welfare”.
