Kwara APC, PDP disagree over Jonathan

Date: 2014-11-13

Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have expressed divergent views over the chances of President Goodluck Jonathan in the state in the 2015 election.

President Jonathan on Tuesday formally declared to run for second term under the ruling PDP. But the state chairman of APC, Ishola Balogun-Fulani, in an interview with Daily Trust, maintained that the president would lose the 2015 election, especially in Kwara.

"Kwara is an APC state and the APC candidate will win the election not only in Kwara but the entire Nigeria," he said.

Balogun-Fulani lamented that people of the state have not benefitted from voting Jonathan in 2011.

But the state PDP chairman, Chief Iyiola Oyedepo, disagreed with the APC, adding that Jonathan will not only secure the required 25 per cent in Kwara, but would have a landslide victory.
