The immediate past special adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Suleiman Ajadi, has said he will defeat Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gives him the governorship ticket to run.

Ajadi stated this at the national secretariat of the PDP after picking his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the governorship election of the state.

"It is going to be a straight fight between the incumbent governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed and myself, we are both from Share in Kwara South. President Goodluck Jonathan is going to win the presidential election in Kwara and PDP is also going to win the governorship in the state.

"Ahmed started that of Kwara South and he is on the fourth year, so naturally, justice demands that there should be second term for the southern zone and that is what we are saying.

"Luckily, APC has picked the incumbent governor from Kwara South, so it makes a lot of meaning for PDP to follow suit," he said.

He said the Saraki factor won't count in the race as, according to him, "Senator Olusola Saraki used to be one of our leaders but he is gone."
