New Education Policy Will Benefit All

Date: 2014-10-20

The Kwara State Government says the proposed amendment to the state Education Law 2006 is designed to rectify perceived ambiguities and take care of the interest of all stakeholders.

The State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed made this revelation today during an interaction with members of Nasfat Society Kwara State in Government House, Ilorin.

While emphasising the state government's preparedness to review any request to relinquish or retain ownership of grant-aided schools once the law has been passed by the state house of assembly, the state governor stressed that the new law will address the interests of pupils, teachers, parents and proprietors of schools.

Governor Ahmed advised the people of Kwara State not to give the proposed amendment any religious coloration as the issue concerns the state's Education Policy which requires a review due to current realities.

He commended the group for presenting its position through dialogue and advised the people to continue to embrace peaceful coexistence and avoid any utterances and actions that can rupture Kwara's reputation for religious harmony.
