Kwara PDP targets 200, 000 members for registration
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara said on Monday that it would target 200,000 members during its registration, which begins on March 25.
Mr Rex Olawoye, a member of the PDP Caretaker Committee in the state, disclosed this in a chat with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin.
According to him, the party has received 200, 000 membership cards from the PDP headquarters for the one week exercise.
Olawoye noted that each of the 193 wards in the state would receive at least 1, 000 membership cards.
He assured that the PDP in the state would conduct a clean and genuine membership registration.
Olawoye said unlike other political parties that claimed to have registered people who are over 90 years old, PDP would only register people that could actually play politics.
He called on the youth in the party to remain steadfast because it was only the party that could take care of their interest.
Olawoye charged the youths to continue to work for the progress of the party, adding that a lot needed to be done to win all elections in 2015.
He said after the registration, the party would commence its congresses starting from the wards
