An Ilorin Magistrate’s Court has ordered that a police corporal, Muyideen Yinusa, who allegedly killed a former chairmanship aspirant during a Valentine’s Day party at Oro in Irepodun local government area of Kwara State be remanded at the Federal Prison, Oke-Kura, Ilorin.
The policeman is facing a one count charge of culpable homicide, contrary to Section 224 of the Penal Code Law.

The Police First Information Report (FIR) stated that a police patrol team had on February 14, gone to a hotel in Oro where a fracas broke out between some hoodlums to restore normalcy and the accused who led the patrol team fired into the air to disperse the crowd and as one of the hoodlums was about to escape, the accused in an attempt to stop him used the butt of his rifle to hit him, following which the gun fired mistakenly and hit Femi Luke Oladipo on the chest and he eventually died on the way to the hospital.
