Governor Ahmed approves 2000 civil service jobs
Governor Ahmed, who announced the decision in Ilorin today, said the office of the Head of Service has been directed to commence procudures for employing the first 500 youths by March this year.
Providing further clarification in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communicatiom, Dr. Muyideen Akorede, Governor Ahmed said the 2000 jobs will be split between the teaching service commission and the mainstream civil service.
Governor Ahmed stressed that the new jobs are distinct from the more than 5000 new jobs that will created under the Quickwin Empowerment scheme which also starts in March 2014.
Governor Ahmed assured that his administration will spare no effort in creating direct and indirect jobs in line its commitment to youth empowerment.
The state government, he said, will also ensure equity and merit in the recruitment to significantly reduce unemployment and give youths greater sense of inclusion in the state.
Governor Ahmed also revealed his administration's determination to create a new crop of young entrepreneurs in the state as it is more beneficial to generate job creators rather than job seekers.
