Ahmed To Troublemakers: Steer Clear Of Kwara Or Face The Full Wrath Of The Law
Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has warned troublemakers that are allegedly planning to cause disharmony among the people in the buildup to commencement of politicking next year, to stay away from the state henceforth or face the full wrath of the law.
Gov. Ahmed gave the warning in Ilorin, the state cappital on Friday while performing the swearing-in of two newly-appointed Justices of the High Court – Justice Adenike Olajumoke Akinpelu and Justice Aminat Ladi Ish’aq – in the state.
According to him, “Let me sound a clear warning to troublemakers: Stay away from our state; we have no room for you here. If you come here, our people will expose you; our law enforcement will apprehend you and our courts will punish you”.
Ahmed, one of the five Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors that recently defected to All Progressives Congress, APC, while reiterating the commitment of his administration to the rule of law, said, “No effort has been spared in the justice sector reform which is yielding the desired results, especially in the quick dispensation of justice”.
He added that, “The progressive embrace of peace, law and order across the state, which, to my mind, is responsible for our reputation for harmony also attests to this. I therefore commend the people of Kwara State for keeping the peace and supporting government in its efforts to create shared prosperity for the benefit of all stakeholders”.
He noted that “It is expedient to remind our judges that their position calls for hard work, discretion and commitment. You must equally be conscious of the fact that justice delayed is justice denied. It is on this premise that I implore you to handle cases with dispatch and sincerity of purpose, to justify the confidence of the government and good people of Kwara State”
