Ahmed commiserates with Yobe and Niger States
Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has commiserated with the government and people of Yobe State over the killing of 50 students of the College of Agriculture, in Gubja by suspected gunmen who invaded the school in the early hours of Saturday.
Dr Ahmed described the killing of the innocent students as callous and barbaric, saying "I was deeply saddened when the news filtered that some people in their prime time have been wasted by gunmen".
The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba condemned the killing, calling on the security agents to work outside the box in order to bring the culprits to book.
I want to once again appeal to all security agencies in the country to wake up and prevent these incessant killing of innocent Nigerians as well as ensure the protection of lives of those in the hospital who are said to be in critical conditions", Ahmed advised.
He urged the government and people of Yobe State to take the incident as an act of God and prayed to God to grant the victims eternal bliss and the families the fortitude to bear the loss.
Similarly, Governor Ahmed also commiserated with the government and people of Niger State over the death of over one hundred people in a boat mishap in River Niger on Friday.
Governor Ahmed who commiserated with the families of the victims over the unfortunate incident, pray for the peaceful repose of the victims.
"This is another challenge for the government both at the federal, state and local levels to improve on our transportation system to curb unnecessary mishap", Dr Ahmed said.My brother, Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State and the families of the victims should take heart, considering the fact that nobody can take a life except Almighty Allah", Ahmed sympathised.
