Berende's family cries out
The family of Abdullahi Mustapha Berende, an Ilorin indigene suspected to be a terrorist and who is currently being detained by operatives of the State Security Service (SSS), has bedenied that he is in the United States of America.
A national daily (not National Mirror) had on Sunday, published the picture of one Abdullahi Mustapha Babafemi, being tried for terrorism charges in America, using the photograph of Berende and captioned it as ‘Berende.’
Berende has been held since December last year by the SSS and has been charged for being the link person with an Al-Qaeda terrorist group in the Republic of Iran. His trial court, sitting in Abuja, has earlier ordered his bail which had been complied with by the SSS.
