Kwara revenue amendment bill passes first reading
The bill, which seeks to, among other things, restructure the state board of internal revenue is an executive bill presented to the House by Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq of the state on Tuesday.
The motion for the first reading of the bill was moved by the House Leader, Abubakar Olawoyin-Magaji and was supported by all members at the plenary.
The first reading of the bill was later read by the Clerk of the House, Hajia Halimah Perogi.
The Speaker, Mr Yakubu Danladi, directed the Clerk of the House to forward copies of the bill to members of the House preparatory to deliberation on the proposal.
Meanwhile, the House has approved a two-million dollar grant to be accessed from the World Bank by the Kwara Government for further infrastructure development of the state
The approval was in response to the governor’s request to that effect in his message read by the Speaker at the plenary.
The Speaker said the request for the loan was in line with the present administration’s resolve toward economic revival and overall development of the state.
