Ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr festival, the Kwara State police command has ordered a water-tight security in flash points across the state to ensure security of lives and property before, during and after the Muslim festival.

To this end, the ranks and files of the command have been placed on alert as the commissioner of Police, Mr Ambrose Aisabor, proscribed all forms of casual and normal leaves for the officers.

The spokesman of the state police command, Mr Ajayi Okasanmi, who made this known during an interview with LEADERSHIP Sunday, disclosed that the commissioner had met with top ranking and divisional police officers on the need to curtail the increasing wave of security threats in their various domains.

He said, “The commissioner of police in his wisdom addressed the DPOs and all policemen and women in Kwara State and told them the essence of this particular season that security must be very tight, the road must be very free based on the influx of people to and out of Kwara. So, there is need for the roads to be well protected. There should be traffic log; there should be no crime of any sort”.
