Defection: Kwara APC's Reaction Attests To My Popularity - Belgore
A former gubernatorial candidate in Kwara State, Mohammed Dele Belgore (SAN), yesterday reacted to the gale of reactions that trailed his defection from APC to PDP.
Belgore who spoke through his media aide, Rafiu Ajakaye, clarified that he did not dump APC because the party’s leadership in the state was not ceded to his group.
The statement reads in part:
“Since our defection last Wednesday, more than four different reactions have been issued all from the staple of Kwara APC, albeit in different guises. The truth is that we are enjoying the gale of reactions from different quarters in the state APC.
“We enjoy it because they are themselves telling the world how devastating our defection is to their continued hold on Kwara politics. These mob reactions contradict claims that we are politically irrelevant and that our defection is “good riddance.”
“If we are as dismissible and unimportant as they wanted the world to believe, why are they raising all sorts of fictitious and hitherto unknown bodies to discredit our move to another political platform?”
He further stated that he and his supporters had the constitutional right to decide what political platform to advance their interests.
