A 31-year-old mechanic, Abdullahi Ismail, of Olojoku compound, Adeta, Ilorin, who allegedly had sexual intercourse with three under-aged children has been remanded at the Federal Prison, Oke-kura, Ilorin.

The accused was said to have lured the victims  (name withheld) into his room where he had sex with them.

The accused was arraigned on a one-count charge of Indecent assault, contrary to Section 285 of Penal Code Law.

Ismail allegedly committed the offence on August 1, 2013 having deceived the victims, who were within the age of eight and twelve under the pretence of sending them on an errand.

Police arrested the accused following a complaint at ‘D' Division Police station, Ilorin by one Orelope Rasaq of Olojoku Compound, Adeta, Ilorin that he, unlawfully had sex with the victims.

Police First Information Report (FIR) on the matter stated that the accused threatened the victims and had carnal knowledge of them respectively.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Abideen Oderinde objected to the bail of the accused and prayed the court to remand him in prison custody pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

The defense counsel, Barrister Dolapo Asalu prayed the court to grant bail to the accused since the law presumed him innocent of the offence until the contrary is proved.

The Judge, Magistrate M.F. Abikoye upheld the submission of the prosecutor and ordered that the accused be remanded at the Federal Prison, Oke-kura, Ilorin, until August 14, when the case will come up for further mention.
