VC commends Gov Ahmed, as Kwara Scholarship Board visits OAU

The vice-Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Professor Bamitale Ornole has commended the kwara State Governor Dr AbdulFatha Ahmed for his commitment and interest in Education.
Professor Omole made this commendation Thursday, in Ile-Ife when the Kwara state scholarship Board paid him  a courtesy call in his office during the payment of  2011/2012 bursary disbursement to Kwara students in the institution.
According to him, we have heard and read a lot about the Administration of Governor Ahmed of kwara state for his policy thrust on Education in the state.
He explained that the ongoing Bursary Award exercise was a clear testimony of Ahrnecs love for Education of Kwara state origin in various high institutions, saying that such gesture was linking to the theory of who train a child has trained a nation.
At the' University of Ibadan, Oyo state, the Deputy Dean, Students' Affairs, Mrs Shola Alade who received the Board members on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor thanked the Governor for bringing the dividend of democracy to his institution through Bursary Award: I
While thanking Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed for remembering his students, she equally commended the Board for their being alive to its responsibility, stressing that the institution would continue to cooperate with the Kwara state government especially in the area of education.
At the 'Osun state College of Education Iia Orangun, the representative of the Provost, Dr David Olasunkanmi expressed his appreciation to Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed for deerning it fit in making the payment of Bursary a reality.
Olasur1kanmi who admired Governor Ahmed education policy, described him as a visionary leader, saying that his gesture to student was an indication of his love and commitment to educational development.
He however urged the Governor of Kwara State to improve more on the Students financial assistance programme as to actualizing the good policy of the State Government on Education.
In his general remark, the Chairman of the Kwara state Scholarship Board, Hon. Isiaka Mogaji: who led the Board on the tour reiterated the commitment of the Kwara state Governor, Dr AbdulFatah Ahmed's giant stride to improve quality of Educational system in the state through the new Merit Driven Scholarship Scheme.
He noted that The Governor was passionate in financing education, stressing that the Board was working on modalities on the new scholarship Scheme in order to bring a huge benefit to students.
The former lawmaker at the Obafemi Awolowo, congratulated the institution on its 50TH anniversary, stressing that over 81, 000 graduates and 9,050 Phd holders produced by the institution had contributed tremendously to social and economic development of the world at large.
He lauded the University for sustaining the vision of the founding fathers, claiming that its performance in research had distinguished the University among its contemporaries in the West Africa.
Meanwhile, The train of the Scholarship Board has again been directed to the Federal University of Technology Minna, Ibrahim Babangida University, Lapai; Niger State College of Health Technology and Niger State College of Education, Minna for continuation of the 2011 2012 second phase Bursary Award.
The Chairman of the Board, Hon. Isiaka Mogaji had recently led the Board to far away (South West Zone) which include University of Ibadan, Obafemi Awolowo, Ile-Ife and Osun State College of Education Iia-Orangun respectively.
