AD, Belgore console Tinubu on mother's death
The Alliance for Democracy has condoled with the National Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on his mother's death.
In a statement on Tuesday, the AD condoled with the families of the late Senator Wahab Dosunmu, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party and Mogaji.
Dosunmu, a former Minister of Housing was buried in Lagos on Sunday while Mogaji was laid to rest on Saturday according to Islamic rites.
In the statement by its state Chairman, Chief Kola Ajayi, the AD stated that the death of the two illustrious Nigerians was sad.
It said, "AD shall forever remain fond of the memories of these eminent persons who have defined themselves in the finest traditions of Lagos as a centre of excellence.
"The late Dosunmu was a quintessential Lagos gentleman who inspired and reached out to people across political parties, ethnic, religious and class lines.
"He was a man of peace and AD prays that his gentle soul will rest in perfect peace with Almighty Allah.
"Mogaji was our dearest President-General of the Market Women's Association of Nigeria.
"Indeed Mogaji was so dedicated to the cause of resourceful and hardworking market women everywhere.
"She was a key pillar in the birth and sustenance of the AD in Lagos State."
Meanwhile, the 2011 Governorship candidate for the Action Congress of Nigeria in Kwara State, Mr. Dele Belgore, has described the mother of the former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, as one who rendered selfless service to humanity.
Belgore in a statement on Tuesday by his media aide, Rafiu Ajakaiye, said Mogaji was an illustrious woman, a leader and a social and political activist.
While commiserating with Tinubu, other family members and associates, Belgore said Mogaji left an enviable legacy of service to humanity.
