The Chairman of Northern Union (NU), Kwara State chapter, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Idris Yahaya (a.k.a Antiga) has indicated interest to contest for the position of Chairmanship of Ilorin South Local Government area of the state even as he pledged to emulate late Saraki's political system if given the mandate.

Antiga made the pledge in his address at the PDP secretariat, Ilorin South, Opomalu area where he made his ambition known to the party executives.

"As the present chairman of Northern Union, kwara state chapter founded by late Dr. Olushola Saraki. With the privilege I had to close to Baba Saraki, I will ensure to emulate all his legacies and experiences to serve the people of Ilorin South Local Government as Council Chairman with the glory of Almighty Allah" Antiga said.

Antiga who hails from Balogun Fulani (I) promised to focus attention on various people-oriented programmes such as education, health, road, water and several others if given the opportunity to serve.

Earlier, Comrade Ayobamire Sam who introduced Antigal to the party executives described him as a tested and trusted candidate who will keep the flag of the local government administration fly.

Also speaking at the gathering, the State Secretary of Northern Union, Prince Samuel Adewale Adeyemi drummed support for Antiga and appealed to the people of the local government to stand by him before, during the election to enable him emerge victorious in the forthcoming local government election.
