The Kwara State office of the National Population Commission (NPC) has donated 150 cartons of chalk and 20 packs of ballpoint pens to the Ilorin Women Association (IWA) to support basic educational and instructional activities across local communities.

The distribution of the instructional materials was facilitated through the State Commissioner of the NPC, Dr Isiaka Alada Yahaya.

Speaking during the official handover ceremony, the State Director of the Commission, Hajia Salamat Ahmed, who represented the Commissioner, explained that the educational items were originally procured to support operations for the 2023 Population and Housing Census.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the association, Professor Aisha Gambari commended the NPC for the gesture, characterizing the initiative as a valuable contribution toward advancing local education.

Professor Gambari, who spoke on behalf of the Global Ambassador of IWA and Chairperson of its Board of Trustees, Memunat Oniyangi, assured the Commission that the donated writing materials would be judiciously deployed to serve their intended educational purposes.

The donation is expected to bolster the association's ongoing community-based educational programs by providing essential writing supplies to support teachers and learners.
