The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended a suspected quack doctor operating an unlicensed medical facility and conducting illegal abortion procedures across the state.

The arrest forms part of an aggressive crackdown by the Command to rid Kwara State of unregistered health practitioners whose illegal practices pose severe, life-threatening risks to unsuspecting patients.

Following intelligence reports and sustained surveillance on illegal medical premises, NSCDC operatives stormed the suspect's facility, uncovering makeshift surgical equipment and uncertified pharmaceuticals used for illicit termination of pregnancies.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, who lacks formal medical qualifications or state licensing, had been illegally administering unsafe medical procedures and termination services to vulnerable young women in the area.

Speaking on the arrest, the Kwara State NSCDC Command reaffirmed its total commitment to protecting public health and safety, warning that anyone operating illegal health centres or engaging in unauthorised medical procedures will face the full weight of the law.

The Command urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or unlicensed medical clinics operating within their communities to security agencies immediately.
