Students of the Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin, have recorded another impressive academic feat by emerging as first runner-up at the prestigious Yusuf Olaolu Ali Moot Competition held at the University of Ilorin.

The competition featured five tertiary institutions, including four universities and CAILS. Following the assessment of written briefs by a panel of judges, only the University of Ilorin and CAILS advanced to the final round, reflecting the exceptional legal research, advocacy and legal writing skills displayed by the college's students.

Representing CAILS were Year One students who had completed just one semester of academic study. Despite competing against more experienced university students, they impressed the judges with their confidence, advocacy skills and sound legal reasoning.

At the end of the competition, the University of Ilorin emerged overall winner with 83 points, while CAILS finished as first runner-up with an impressive score of 78 points.

The achievement underscores the quality of legal education and advocacy training at CAILS and reinforces the institution's commitment to producing competent legal professionals capable of competing favourably with their counterparts in Nigerian universities.
