A social organization, Tobalase Afonja Group in Idi-Ape Quarters,  Ilorin has commended Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, for the construction of a befitting palace for Magaji Aare at Idi-Ape, describing the gesture as unprecedented in the contemporary history of the people.

Speaking with The Herald in an interview at the corporation’s Headquarters along Offa Road, GRA, Ilorin on Tuesday, Alhaji Mohammed Nuhu Adebayo, expressed gratitude to the Kwara State Government for the honour accorded Magaji Aare, adding that Alhaji Shuaib  Aremu Zubair,  and the people would ever be  grateful to the government and members of his cabinet.

“We are very happy as a people for the honur accorded the house with the construction of a modern palace at Idi-Ape for habitation by Magaji Aare. We feel proud to be identified with the state governor, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the Emir of Ilorin, for making the project a reality.

Adebayo, who is of Ekefa Ruling House and the spokesperson of the group, also appreciated the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim  Sulu Gambari, for his fatherly role adding that the Emir had demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that “he is the father of all by the way he accommodated us during a courtesy call on him two weeks ago”.

“He was kind and open-minded and made us feel at home and home indeed; he noted.

According to Adebayo, the house would continue to support the government in the mobilization of the people at the grassroots to achieve its goals and objectives, stressing that the people had benefited a lot from the continuity of government programmes initiated by the immediate past administration of governor Bukola Saraki in the state.

Engineer Idris Tunde Subair who also spoke said Tobalase Afonja Group was motivated by the good will of the state governor as exemplified by his developmental projects and human capacity building, which he said had transformed the landscape of Kwara.

He however, appealed to the governor to commission the Magaji Aare palace to facilitate its immediate occupation and usage even as he expressed confidence in government’s readiness to furnish the palace to taste.

Zubair, who is of Arilesere Ruling House pledged the support of the group and the entire Idi-Ape quarters with government, saying we are solidly behind the PDP-led government in the state”
