The Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) has organised training for members of the National Youth Service Corps, Environmental Protection and Sanitation CDS Group.

During the programme in Ilorin, the General Manager of the Agency, Jide Aina, said the initiative would improve their knowledge on hygiene.

He said the training was part of the Agency's commitment to promoting sustainable environmental practices and building a network of environmentally conscious citizens across the state.  Aina noted that the training brought together Corps Members from various locations and focused on modern waste management practices and other key areas.

He urged participants to serve as environmental ambassadors, stressing that their roles were vital in promoting personal hygiene and community cleanliness.

Aina maintained that empowering young people with environmental knowledge is critical to achieving long-term sustainability.

In her remarks, the President of the NYSC Environmental Protection and Sanitation CDS Group, Abolarin Sola, described the training as timely and impactful in deepening their understanding of environmental issues.

She also reaffirmed the group's commitment to supporting environmental programmes and policies of government by actively engaging in sensitisation campaigns and community-based sanitation efforts.
