The Secretary to the Kwara State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold has commiserated with the state House of Assembly over the rainstorm that damaged some parts of the assembly chamber.

Gold, who led a government delegate to the House yesterday, said the government was happy the House did not allow the incident to distract its activities.

The SSG also added that it was an indication of the members’ commitment to their legislative duties.

He however reassured the House that the state government would do necessary repairs as soon as possible.

In his response, the Speaker of the House, Hon. Abdulrazaq Atunwa, praised the governor for sending such a powerful delegation to sympathize with the House.

Atunwa said the rainstorm had very devastating effect on the lives and properties of the people of state.

The Speaker added that continuation of work was just an emulation of the governor’s excellent performances in office.

Other Members of the delegate were the Commissioner for Housing, Alhaji Baba Kpan, Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Otunba Taiye Afolabi, Special Adviser on Security- Alhaji Yinka Aluko, Special Adviser on Emergency and Relief Services, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, and Special Assistant for Chieftancy, Prince Haliru Dantsofo.

Others were Special Assistant Legislative, Mr. Ayansola, Permanent Secretary General Services, Alhaji M. A. Shehu, Permanent Secretary Works, Alh. Kazeem Alabi, and Director Political, Elder David Adesina.

The delegation also visited the legislative quarters to assess the damage there.
