Katsina United Coach Thumbs Up Ilorin Stadium Pitch After 3-2 Victory Over Enyimba
Katsina United technical adviser, Mohammed Azeez, has expressed satisfaction with their adopted home ground at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl George Innih Stadium in Ilorin.
The Chanji Boys were temporarily banished to the stadium by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for a breach of security at their original ground, the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, following incidents of violence during a Matchday 12 fixture against Barau FC.
Azeez was quick to confirm that the pitch conditions did not give them an advantage in their recent win.
"There is nothing wrong with the pitch. Whether I win, lose or draw, I cannot blame the pitch because it has no issue," Azeez stated in Ilorin.
DAILY POST reports that Katsina United defeated Enyimba 3-2 in a five-goal thriller in their first match at the neutral venue on Monday, November 24, 2025.
The coach added that they had trained on the turf previously: "We played here against Kwara United two or three weeks ago. We also had a training session before that match, and my boys didn't complain about the turf."
