NIMC Restores Nationwide NIN Verification After Technical Upgrades
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced the full restoration of its National Identification Number (NIN) verification services nationwide following the completion of system upgrades and technical maintenance.
In a statement released on Friday by Kayode Adegoke, the commission's spokesperson, NIMC confirmed that all services previously disrupted by maintenance are now operational. The announcement read: "The NIMC is pleased to confirm the successful conclusion of our scheduled system upgrades. All NIN-related services have resumed normal operations across the country."
Nigerians seeking to enroll for a NIN or make updates including name corrections and data modifications are encouraged to visit the NIMC official website for information on nearby registration centres and to access the self-service portal for online changes.
The commission reiterated its commitment to improving digital infrastructure and service delivery, ensuring seamless access to national identity verification for citizens and institutions.
The commission advised users to download the "NIMC NameAuth" app (available as oath.app) from both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store to verify and authenticate their NIN information.
NIMC also extended its gratitude to the public for their patience and cooperation during the recent service downtime.
It would be recalled that over the past week, banks, telecom providers, and various government institutions that depend on NIN verification services had encountered delays and disruptions due to the technical issues.
