The Polytechnic Ojoku gets operation license
The Rector of The Polytechnic Ojoku, Salaudeen Oyewale, on August 17, visited the liaison office of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Abuja for the official presentation of the Institution's License to operate.
NBTE is a body overseeing Polytechnics while consolidating and developing the nation's system of higher education in response to the economy's manpower needs and strengthening the machinery for educational development in the country.
The official presentation came months after the institution was notified of the license issuance and formal approval. The official presentation was done in the presence of Prof. Idris M. Bugaje, Executive Secretary, NBTE; Alhaja Balikis, the Director of Liaison Office; and other academicians and dignitaries.
The license was presented by Prof. Idris M. Bugaje, ES of NBTE, and the approval, on normalcy, “was based on the government's determination to produce the critical mass of skilled manpower that would engender sustainable national development”.
During an interview, the Rector of The Polytechnic Ojoku, Salaudeen Oyewale, while emphasizing the importance of private sector participation in tertiary education management and administration, expressed his satisfaction and the government's efforts of re-positioning education to a knowledge-based economy, and workforce skills.
According to the Rector, private institutions would keep contributing to bridging the gaps and open access to education. After commending the Federal Government for the license, he said: “The Polytechnic Ojoku would keep working to attain the best theory and practices in the country.”
The Polytechnic Ojoku is Tech-Innovated
The Polytechnic Ojoku (Ilemona Campus), Kwara State, fully licensed by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) is located at Km 5, Irra Road, Ilemona, Kwara State.
The institution is tech-innovated to unveil knowledge to young minds from rural and urban areas, and the institution appreciates entrepreneurship, sheer excellence, and academic prestige.
The institution is also keen to provide students with 21st-century employability skills depending on their fields of specialization.
Acting Registrar, Abdulsalam Olaide speaks on the license, admission requirement
The Acting Registrar, Abdulsalam Olaide, also expressed his happiness for the official presentation of the license. He said the institution had been hitherto fully licensed by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to be offering technical education programmes leading to the award of diplomas and certificates before the Rector decided to visit the liaison office of the Board this month. He, however, revealed that admission is open for suitably qualified candidates. He said candidates “can visit the institution's official website at www.polyojoku.edu.ng or visit the institution's admission unit on campus.”
While saying that courses are offered in the School of Engineering, School of Management and Business, and also School of Sciences, he further stated that the registration fee is #10,000 only and can be obtained by contacting any of these numbers 08132953960, 08186398816 or 0706 841 2138 or probably visit the campus.
“Gaining admission into The Polytechnic Ojoku is hitch-free as the minimum entry requirement is JAMB and O'Level Credit (WASC, GCE, O/L, NABTEB, NECO) with credit passes in subjects relevant to the programmes of applicants.”
Olaide believes that the institution is becoming one of the leading Polytechnics in Kwara State and beyond “as it is student-inclusive and appreciating hands-on skills cum sheer knowledge.”
