She emerged 6th position behind IMO, RiVERS, LAGOS, ANAMBRA and EDO states in that order after a highly contested preliminary mathematics competition where the Kwara State representative gave a good account of herself.

In the North Central rating, KWARA state emerged in first position followed by FCT, Abuja, PLATEAU state, KOGI state and NASARAWA state. NIGER state was one of the few states that failed to qualify for the finals.

The event took place in Abuja today at the NATIONAL MATHEMATICAL CENTER.

Kwara State has in recent months participated in Zonal and National competitions where students from the state have distinguished themselves in different school competitions and categories to the applause of policy makers and analysts who have credited the improved academic performance to the renewed efforts by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to ensure that education is given top priority through provision of requisite manpower and welfare.
